HELLO 2022! LET US LEARN TO MAINTAIN OUR ORAL HEALTH

27th December 2021
As the year of 2021 is coming to an end, it is time for us to renew our resolution for the upcoming new year to keep maintaining our oral health. When it comes to your health, maintaining strong oral health habits play a major role in your overall well-being whether you're eating a meal or smiling for a photograph or just living your daily life.

HOW DO WE ACHIEVE HEALTHY ORAL HEALTH HABITS?

First, we need to understand and use oral health resources to make informed oral health decisions. One of the best resources we can use to make informed decisions is through your local oral health provider also known as your local dentist. Dental clinics are specifically designed to improve your oral health and can also provide you with some helpful general information on how to keep your teeth looking great at home. Additionally, a dentist can also provide checks to detect early signs of oral diseases and treat them as soon as possible. At Q & M, our professional dentist will be able to assist you no matter the oral challenges that you're currently facing.

THINGS THAT YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO KEEP TEETH LOOKING HEALTHY

Fortunately, there are various practices that you can maintain at home to keep your teeth looking as healthy as possible before your next dental visit. Here are some of the things;
  • Effectively Brushing Your Teeth. Brush your teeth twice a day with the flouride toothpaste for at least 2 minutes while using an electric toothbrush. Brushing your teeth twice a day reduces the risk of gingivitis (swelling and irritation of your gums), tooth decay, and periodontitis (gum infections that can result in tooth loss). An electric toothbrush also results in better cleaning overall.
  • Floss Regularly. Flossing properly is an important technique to remove plaque buildup between your teeth. Buildup of plaque can lead to cavities (holes) and even the loss of tooth. Maintaining the practice on a daily basis while using a string floss works best (as compared to a water floss).
  • Life & Wellness Tips. To keep your oral health at its best, maintain great life and wellness habits. For example, you can limit on sugary beverages and snacks in your diet. An increase in sugary intake leads to increased risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease. Also, do not use or consume tobacco products. Various studies has shown that it leads to poor gum health, tooth enamel, discoloration, tooth erosion, and even oral cancer.
With so many options available for keeping your overall oral health healthy, do visit your local dental clinic to know what's best for you. Remember, dental prevention is easier than treatment!
